Now also available in a fine grind - a perfect ground bait for match anglers.

 

This bait was developed by Bob Bernowski and has been extensively field tested. The bulk ingredients include high protein/amino acid components as well a sweeteners. It also contains betaine and other proven attractants. To prepare the bait, mix the entire contents of the bag with one can (14.75 oz) of cream-style corn. You may also add flavoring, about 1/4 cup of Superior Flavoring or other of your choice. Add a handful or prepared hempseed or other particles if you wish. Mold the moistened bait around your sinker or around your hookbait. It casts well and breaks down after about 3 minutes in the water. You may also shoot out golf ball sized lumps with a catapult. 4lb plastic bag or 20lb box.

This is the bait that brought in the largest fish ever from the Chicago River, the 38lb 2oz carp shown on the openning page to our web site.

This is a fine textured, sweet smelling, fishmeal-free bait. Mixes with water (or cream-style corn) to make a ball that sticks together well but breaks down quickly in the water. Try our Flavor Tubes if you want to add flavor and color to the bait. Add as much or as little as you want but remember that a subtle hint of flavor is often times best.

“Zu” is the Storm-Bird of Enki, the Sumerian high god of water and intellect.

Wacker Bait & Tackle has developed a pair of groundbait mixes suitable for both match anglers and specimen hunters. They are based on a highly nutritious and attractive fish food but do not contain any fish meal.

The River/Deep Water formula (GBT-R) is fairly dense so that it sinks quickly and breaks down slowly. It is a finely ground powder so it breaks down releasing attraction but little for the fish to eat. This mix also is a good base for a method bait; add corn or other particles, chopped boilies, pellets or whatever and pack it around a feeder for specimen angling.

The Stillwater formula (GBT-S) does not pack as tightly and contains some less dense ingredients. It will start to release attractants almost as soon as it hits the water, filling the water column with finely divided goodies.

  • Lake Carp - TMU1 - Tested at the 2009 Can-Am Match Fishing Tournament, where it smashed the competition. Most effective when water temperature is around 50 degrees. Use this bait in still, or very slow-moving waters. Prepare it with venue water 5 minutes prior to fishing, and make the mix more damp, than wet. Chum the area with small golf ball-sized bait balls, and re-bait in every 15 min. The active feeding ingredients will form a cloud in your swim that will attract fish.
  • River Carp - TMU2 - Nicely balanced bait has binding ingredients along with nutrients to attract, and hold fish in moving waters. In case of extra strong current, add 10-15 % fine gravel, or soil/dirt to make its weight heavier.
  • Captain's Bait - TMU3- Nicely balanced bait has binding ingredients along with nutrients to attract, and hold fish in moving waters. Prepare it 15 min-30 min prior to fishing, to ensure that all particles are soaked in enough water.
  • All Species - TMU4 - This basic formula contains plenty of active ingredients, which will draw fish to your spot, and increase your catch of panfish, catfish, carp, gold fish, trout, sucker, buffalo, white fish, and more. Mix bait few minutes prior to fishing, and use it for 3-5 hours. For best results, you may add 1 cap full of a Top Mix liquid attractor and some canned sweet corn, chopped worms, spikes, or mealworms.
  • Carp 'n' Cat - TMU5 - This robust, unique flavor is like nothing you ever tried. Recommended for bullheads and channel catfish but, because of its fishmeal base,  it is a great bait for panfish, trout and many more fish species. Also when water temperature is below 50 degree Fahrenheit, this bait becomes fantastic carp bait.
  • Custom Carp - TMU16 - Sweet subtle scent, and customized premium particles that carp goes crazy for makes this into a wonderful all-around carp bait. Its debut was at the 2010 WI Carp Championship, where it produced hundreds of pounds of carp for the TopMixUSA pro anglers.

Millet Bait Dry Mix. Millet, wheat bran, soy meal and flour. Add 4oz Karo Syrup and 4oz liquid flavor as in recipe below.

Millet Bait
3 cups hulled millet
1 cup wheat bran
1/2 cup soy meal
1 1/3 cup flour
4 oz of karo syrup
4 oz of liquid flavoring (maple syrup, any of the Superior Flavors, etc)

NOTE: If you use a “non syrup” (extract, Kool-Aide) flavoring, you will have to add more Karo so that sufficient thick syrup is in the recipe for binding purposes.

Mix dry ingredients together
Mix liquid ingredients together and heat gently (do not boil)
Mix liquid into dry ingredients. Let set for a couple of hours.

This should pack into a rock-hard ball that will cast a mile without falling off and that will break down in the water within a few minutes.
