Arma Mesh, Fox

Arma Mesh®
Don’t be fooled by first impressions, as this IS NOT PVA! It’s a new baiting system that utilises a mesh that doesn’t breakdown in water.

It was originally developed to prevent crayfish or other small ‘nuisance’ fish attacking your hookbait, but in fact offers a huge list of additional benefits that will appeal to all types of anglers: carp, match, predator and even sea anglers!

The mesh creates an almost invisible cage around your bait which stops small fish eating it, while still allowing the flavours to leak out into the water. It also means you can use baits on the hook that have previously been impossible including:
• Spod mix
• Mashed meat
• Pellet ball
• Paste
• Liquidised bread
• Sweetcorn ball
• Chopped worms/maggots
• Mashed fish for predators/sea species

It also allows you to fish pellets for long periods, without risk of breakdown, and it’s very effective when used with corn in the mesh and a piece of plastic corn as a hair-stop. We’ve even had our consultants use a mesh bag of hemp fished over hemp loosefeed with devastating results!

You load the Arma Mesh® exactly as you would load PVA, using the loading funnel supplied. It comes in narrow (14mm) and wide (22mm) sizes, and refill spools are available.

To use the Mesh we recommend you use a traditional hair rig approach. You can pass a baiting needle through the sack of bait and then slide it up a hair, securing it with a hair stop.

Hemp Seed

HEMP
!

The ultimate particle feed. The only potential problem with hemp is that the fish may devote all their time and effort into seeking out every last seed in the water, all the while ignoring your hookbait. To avoid this, do not overfeed, use a very small amount and top-up only after a take. Cover with cold water, bring to a boil and simmer 20-30 minutes or until the seeds split slightly. Sugar (about 1 lb per 10 lbs. hemp) may be added. Can be mixed with bread crumbs or soy flour to make an effective paste.

Hemp seed is also available in 50lb bags. Please contact us for pricing and shipping charges.

Aquamax Fish Chow

AQMxx

Larger picture
The "old reliable" ingredient for packbaits. Widely used with great success at paylakes everywhere.

Three sizes available: #3 small (bb size), #5 medium (3/16"), #6 large (1/4"). The #3 will sink, the two larger sizes float unless they are first saturated with water.

Try the following recipes to make good packbaits.

For the #3:  3 lbs. of Aquamax mixed with 1 can of cream corn. Put it in a ziplock bag and mix well then let it set for a few hours before use. Packs nicely. If you want to add additional flavors add them to the cream corn before you mix it up.

For the #5 and #6:  Put 6 lb. of Aquamax into a 5 gal bucket. Blend 3 cans of cream corn and your favorite flavor until well liquefied. Pour this mixture over the Aquamax in your bucket and mix until the Aquamax is evenly wetted. Now the important part, remix this by hand every fifteen minutes for about an hour to a hour and a half, then let it sit in the bucket with a lid on it overnight. The next morning the Aquamax will have soaked up the liquid and it will look dry, but it will be soft and moist (but not wet).

Now when you start fishing just grab a handful and pack around your hookbait, pack it really tight so you squeeze out all the air. It will sink to the bottom and break down in about 2 minutes. As it breaks down about a 1/4 of the little pieces of chow will slowly rise to the surface and the rest will remain in a pile around your hook bait.

These pellets have a multitude of uses. Just toss them into the water and they will quickly break down, releasing a strong odor and an array of nutrients which will attract fish. Or grind the pellets, mix with eggs or Pescaviva Cream to make a thick paste. Very nutritious and attractive.

Triticale lb

TRIT
!
A laboratory creation made by crossing wheat and rye (with a little magic thrown in). The magic changes two indifferent grains into one that carp love.
One of the few grains proven to be palatable and attractive to carp. It is the equal of maize in attracting carp and promoting feeding within ten minutes.

Tiger Nuts, Spanish 2.5lb

TNSS2/TNSL2
!

The very highest quality Spanish tiger nuts. Standard size (approx, 8-11 mm) and large size (approx. 12-15 mm). Processed for human consumption so they are very clean and free from the root hairs found on lesser grades.

The flagship product in our catalogue is gaining acceptance everyday thanks to its efficiency. Tigernut is a suitable grain to use it during the whole year, although its efficiency improves in warm weather. Its high level of natural glucose makes it to be “naturally irresistible” for carps. It is considered a very selective bait in lakes and marshes with a high concentration of crayfishes.

The baiting of fishing zones with tigernuts should not be too aggressive, mainly due to, when tigernuts pass through carps’ pharynx teeth they are chopped, and this added to the fact of being a slow digestion grain, ends up with the carps spreading small scraps of tigernut in they stools, which are swallowed by other fishes repeating this action again and again.

Preparation of tigernuts for fishing

Just like most of the grains and seeds used as fishing baits, tigernuts require a preparation to get the optimum point for its use.

To get a normal preparation for the tigernuts we have to follow those steps explained next:

  • Put the tigernuts on soaking to make them to get back to their usual level of humidity, softening a little their hard peel. We have to cover the tigernuts with water enough because they absorb a quite big amount of water and there should be enough.

    Recommended soaking time: 36 hours

    1. Next, we add some more water into the one left in the receptacle and then we pour it all into a pot to start the boiling process, which depends of the sort of receptacle. It is usual to add some sugar during the cooking process to boost the tigernut flavour and to get a quicker fermentation.

    Recommended cooking time: 45 minutes

    • Once boiled, let the tigernuts cool down in the water where they have been cooked, because it contains a high level of glucose come off from the tigernuts during the cooking and this is the best stock to help the fermentation process.
    • o When the tigernuts reach the room temperature, we introduce them in a hermetic receptacle where we will leave them to settle between 3 and 5 days. During these days, the liquid will convert into a viscous gel which is delicious to the carps.
