Aquamax Fish Chow

AQMxx
!
Larger picture
The "old reliable" ingredient for packbaits. Widely used with great success at paylakes everywhere.

Three sizes available: #3 small (bb size), #5 medium (3/16), #6 large (1/4). The #3 will sink, the two larger sizes float unless they are first saturated with water.

Try the following recipes to make good packbaits.

For the #3:  3 lbs. of Aquamax mixed with 1 can of cream corn. Put it in a ziplock bag and mix well then let it set for a few hours before use. Packs nicely. If you want to add additional flavors add them to the cream corn before you mix it up.

For the #5 and #6:  Put 6 lb. of Aquamax into a 5 gal bucket. Blend 3 cans of cream corn and your favorite flavor until well liquefied. Pour this mixture over the Aquamax in your bucket and mix until the Aquamax is evenly wetted. Now the important part, remix this by hand every fifteen minutes for about an hour to a hour and a half, then let it sit in the bucket with a lid on it overnight. The next morning the Aquamax will have soaked up the liquid and it will look dry, but it will be soft and moist (but not wet).

Now when you start fishing just grab a handful and pack around your hookbait, pack it really tight so you squeeze out all the air. It will sink to the bottom and break down in about 2 minutes. As it breaks down about a 1/4 of the little pieces of chow will slowly rise to the surface and the rest will remain in a pile around your hook bait.

Hemp Seed

HEMP
!

The ultimate particle feed. The only potential problem with hemp is that the fish may devote all their time and effort into seeking out every last seed in the water, all the while ignoring your hookbait. To avoid this, do not overfeed, use a very small amount and top-up only after a take. Cover with cold water, bring to a boil and simmer 20-30 minutes or until the seeds split slightly. Sugar (about 1 lb per 10 lbs. hemp) may be added. Can be mixed with bread crumbs or soy flour to make an effective paste.

Hemp seed is also available in 50lb bags. Please contact us for pricing and shipping charges.

Hulled Millet

HMLT
!
Larger picture

This is widely used in pack baits by pay-lakers as it packs tight and breaks down quickly in water.

Millet Bait (makes about 0.5 gal).

3 cups hulled millet
1 cup wheat bran
1/2 cup soy meal
1 1/3 cup flour
4 oz of karo syrup
4 oz of liquid flavoring (maple syrup, any of the Superior Flavors, etc)

NOTE: If you use a "non syrup" (extract, koolaide) flavoring....you will have to add more Karo so that sufficient thick syrup is in the recipe for binding purposes.

Mix dry ingredients together
Mix liquid ingredients together and heat gently (do not boil)
Mix liquid into dry ingredients. Let set for a couple of hours.

This should pack into a rock-hard ball that will cast a mile without falling off and that will break down i the water within a few minutes.

Rod Hutchinson, renowned British angler, says that maples are his "favorite bait of all time... because I've caught more fish on it than any other bait." Soak for 12-16 hours then boil for 20-30 minutes. Let them ferment if you have the time and the fish will go wild.

Sinking Fish Pellets

SFPx
!

These pellets have a multitude of uses. Just toss them into the water and they will quickly break down, releasing a strong odor and an array of nutrients which will attract fish. Or grind the pellets, mix with eggs or Pescaviva Cream to make a thick paste. Very nutritious and attractive.

Tiger Nuts, American

TNUTx-US
!

Clean American grown tiger nuts (chufas). Unsorted for size so you get a great variety in every package - use small ones to encourage shy biters or the large ones to select for the larger fish.

Soak at least 24 hrs, boil 30-60 min. or longer. No need to add sugar since they are naturally sweet. After a few days at room temperature, they will get slimey. At this point they are perfect.
